Use raw, fresh, organic and if possible locally grown ingredients.

Blend ingredients together with a high speed, high power blender (Vitamix or better). Add incrementally to not overheat the blender. Add ingredients with a higher water content like fruit as well as oil first. (In addition to taste and nutritional value, oil helps getting a smooth, creamy consistency.) Use ice to adjust liquidity and keep cool during blending.

Make sure in the end result all five tastes (spicy, umami, sweet, sour and bitter) are discernible and in the desired balance. (Lemon, ginger root and mustard greens can easily be overpowering.)

Start off with a ratio of 1:1 between fruit and greens. Over time try to reduce the fruit portion as the health benefits of greens are much bigger. And of course: Keep the recipe alive by changing it up...
